Charcoal drawings
Drawings in mostly charcoal, with sometimes a little bit of pencil. A daily discipline to notice what I notice, and to keep the eye honest and the hand obedient. I’m drawn to the slightly off-kilter reference images with odd proportions – voluptuous noses, elongated chins and necks that seem to bend in unusual ways. Dancing cats are also irresistible to me, and I may start noticing this tendency in other animals soon.
